The husare communications agency has published its updated environmental statement for 2026. The report documents the progress made in the environmental management system and shows how key figures have developed compared to the previous year.
A major milestone: husare now obtains all of its electricity from renewable energies. The share was 100% in 2024, compared to around 50.9% in the previous year.
The development also shows clear changes in other areas. Paper consumption was drastically reduced – the number of prints fell from 29,200 in 2023 to just 4,121 in the following year.At the same time, husare was able to reduce CO₂ emissions per employee from 0.94 to 0.81 tons.
At the same time, the use of electrical infrastructure is increasing, which is reflected, among other things, in higher electricity consumption – an effect of the increasing switch to e-mobility.
In addition to the key figures, the environmental statement also defines specific targets for the coming years. These include reducing electricity consumption by a further 10% by 2026 and cutting paper consumption by 30%.
“For us, the environmental statement is not a mandatory reporting program, but a management tool,” says Mona Islek, Environmental Management Officer at husare. “We make progress visible, but above all we use it to make our next steps binding.”
The environmental statement is part of the EMAS environmental management system and is updated annually. The next publication is scheduled for January 2027.
With the current version, husare underlines its claim not only to document environmental responsibility, but also to actively integrate it into the company’s development.
